The Story Behind Soothla

The Story Behind Soothla

The stress of a global pandemic can feel amplified when you're a new parent in a new country. That's exactly what I faced when I, along with my 3-month-old son, moved from the Netherlands to Sweden right as COVID-19 began to sweep the world. Getting a doctor's appointment felt nearly impossible, leaving me even more worried when my son developed severe eczema.

The constant itch, the raw scratches – it was heartbreaking to watch him struggle, especially when even the simplest things, like sleep, became a battle. As a mother, my natural instinct kicked in, and I dove headfirst into research. But this wasn't just for my son anymore. I discovered a staggering statistic: over 1 in 5 children in the Western world suffer from eczema, and even more have sensitive skin.

Frustration started to bubble alongside my worry. The available clothing and bedding options seemed filled with bulky seams, irritating labels, and questionable chemicals – the last things my son's delicate skin needed. Finding clothes with built-in anti-scratch mittens? Forget about it. In desperation, I resorted to putting socks on his tiny hands and sleeping next to him, holding them gently to prevent him from scratching himself open at night. It wasn't ideal, but it was all I could do at the time.

That's when the seed of an idea was planted. Maybe, I thought, there could be a better way. A way to provide not just relief for my son, but for countless other families facing similar challenges. Thus, Soothla was born.

Our mission is simple: to provide the most comfortable, soft, and allergy-friendly eczema clothing and bedding available. We use only safe, toxin-free, and allergy-friendly fabrics, ensuring your child's sensitive skin is treated with the utmost care. Our timeless designs, offered in soft, calming colors, prioritize comfort and movement, allowing your little one to play and rest with ease.

But Soothla isn't just about comfort; it's about caring for our planet as well. We use biodegradable fabrics, recycled and biodegradable packaging, and strive for a multi-lifecycle approach. This means our clothing can be passed down or loved by multiple children, minimizing waste. Additionally, our ethical production within the European Union ensures our partners share our values of sustainability and social responsibility.

As a mother who has walked that difficult path of finding the right products for a child with sensitive skin, I understand the challenges you face. Every stitch, every design choice in our Soothla collection reflects the love and dedication I poured into creating something truly special.

It's my hope that when you use our products, you'll feel the passion and care that went into making them. Thank you for trusting Soothla to be a part of your journey – it means the world to me.
